UNPACK YOUR STORY —THROUGH art.
In my studio, you’ll find books, a large table with chairs, artwork, and a well-loved brown suitcase filled with art supplies — fabric scraps, colourful paper, yarn, and more.
I came across this old suitcase years ago. Its worn leather and scuffs tell a story of travel and time. Today, it serves as a symbol in my practice: a reminder of how we carry our emotional experiences. Just like packing for a trip, some of us plan carefully — folding and organizing with intention. Others toss things in and hope they’ve remembered the bare essentials. In the same way, we each carry our emotions and life experiences differently.
The name of my practice, In My Suitcase, is a metaphor for this emotional journey. Some memories are neatly stored and understood, while others are jumbled, buried, or forgotten — tucked away in hidden corners. Our bodies, like that suitcase, hold not only experiences but also the emotional weight they carry. And like an overstuffed suitcase, our emotional load can become disorganized, burdensome, or overwhelming. Emotionally unpacking helps us reconnect with ourselves and move forward with intention and ease.
In art therapy, you’ll explore materials that support your self-expression in the moment — no previous art experience needed. I’ll guide your process, and the In My Suitcase art studio is fully stocked with high-quality supplies, including:
The art studio is a warm, welcoming space designed for comfort and creativity. With natural light, aromatherapy scents, and flexible seating, it encourages self-expression and emotional healing.
Therapy often extends beyond sessions, so clients are welcome to borrow books and resources from the studio to support their healing at home.
